Can I Keep My Phone Number When Switching to Faro? (Number Porting)

Yes, you can keep your existing landline number when switching to Faro — this process is called porting.

📝 What You Need to Do:

  • During signup, let us know you’d like to port your existing phone number.
  • Provide your account number and name exactly as it appears with your current provider (e.g. Spark, 2degrees).
  • We’ll handle the porting request with Chorus and your old provider.

⏱ How Long Does It Take?

  • Porting typically takes 1–2 business days once we’ve submitted the request.
  • You’ll receive confirmation when the number is successfully transferred.

⚠️ Important: Don’t cancel your existing phone service before the port is complete. If it’s disconnected prematurely, you may lose your number.

📦 What About the Internet?

  • If you’re moving to Faro for internet as well, both the broadband and phone can be switched together.
  • We’ll check if your current address has a compatible Chorus terminal and arrange for an upgrade if needed (especially for Hyperfibre plans).
